Robyn Robbins
Parent Consultant
Robyn Robbins is a Resource parent from Northern California who has been supporting families and children in the Child Welfare System for over 20 years. During this time, her focus has expanded to include advocacy, consulting, training, mentorship and teamwork specifically geared to create strength based, solution-focused practice and policies that allow families to heal and grow strong.
In her local community she works to support reunification and family preservation with direct services to families, participation in the County Prevention Learning Collaborative and as a co-founder and facilitator of a Fatherhood support group. At the county level she and her birth parent mentor partner have succeeded in creating a partnership program that now functions as a regular unit in their county child welfare department. Just this year she has become a member of the Equity Advisory Group of The All Children Thrive Program for the state of California Office of Child Abuse Prevention. At the national level she works for The Children’s Trust Fund Alliance in The Birth and Foster Parent Partnership movement which uses relationship building to elevate the collective voices of birth parents, foster parents and kinship caregivers in order to improve policy and practices for children and families.
Other agencies, including Casey Family Programs and The Child Welfare League of America use her as a constituent consultant in speaking engagements, trainings and participation in groups that focus on relationship building and community collaboration practices that successfully embed people with lived experience.
Robyn is the recipient of The American Bar Association’s 2022 Reunification Hero Award. She thoroughly believes that children and families deserve racial equity and strong loving homes in connected communities where they will thrive.
