Ray E. Helfer, MD, Award Recipients

The Children’s Trust Fund Alliance established the annual Ray E. Helfer, MD, Award in 1992 in collaboration with the American Academy of Pediatrics to honor an esteemed pediatrician who has made significant contributions to local and national efforts to prevent child abuse and neglect.

Usually the award recipients were honored at the Alliance’s annual membership meetings. The following links are to the recipient’s biography that was included in the meeting’s agenda or to a press release. Formerly known as the National Alliance of Children’s Trust and Prevention Funds, the Alliance shortened its name and changed its logo in 2019. Because of the COVID pandemic, the award was not given in 2020.
